Starting from the development of comprehensive power plant simulators and adopting pioneering water vapour-liquid equilibrium calculations, INVIDES has evolved to cover a wide range of applications. From the simulation of fossil and nuclear power plants with their varied types of turbines, SimQuation has extended the INVIDES model core using hydrocarbon equilibrium calculations, which are then incorporated into process models for the energy industry.
In line with the INVIDES process models, SimQuation has consistently prioritised the development and enhancement of our power system simulation capabilities and the associated electrical grids. These are of significant value in power plants, but also – to other process industries. SimQuation has also integrated a system for simulating complex control logic systems. All these elements together form an integrated, comprehensive approach to process simulation.
The latest evolutionary step in the development of the SimQuation model core has been the implementation of chemical reactions. This has enabled SimQuation to create process models for a huge number of possible applications and unit operations that can be simulated, ranging from refinery processes and petrochemical to Power-to-x.
